Accessibility Statement
Header and Commitment Statement
Rivoltini Alimentare Dolciaria Srl
We are committed to making the “Rivoltini” website accessible, in accordance with Law No. 4 of January 9, 2004.
This accessibility statement applies to the website rivoltini.com.
To achieve this goal, we aim to comply as rigorously as possible with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide variety of disabilities. Compliance with these guidelines helps us ensure that the site is accessible to everyone: blind people, people with motor disabilities, people with low vision, people with cognitive disabilities, and many others.
Technologies and Tools Adopted
This site uses various technologies designed to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We use an accessibility interface that allows people with specific disabilities to adapt the site’s user interface (UI) and customize it according to their needs.
In addition, the site uses an AI-based application that runs in the background and constantly optimizes the accessibility level. This application corrects the site’s HTML code, adapts its functionality and behavior for screen readers used by blind people and for keyboard functions used by people with motor disabilities.
Screen Readers and Keyboard Navigation
The site implements ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) techniques and specific behavioral modifications to ensure that blind users can read and navigate the site via screen readers. Upon first access, a Screen Reader Profile is offered, which can be activated immediately.
Screen reader optimization:
- Automated background process that analyzes the entire site to ensure compliance even during updates.
- Assignment of correct semantic labels to forms.
- Description of functional icons (e.g., social, cart).
- Guides for form validation.
- ARIA roles for buttons, menus, modals, and other interactive elements.
- Automatic image description through object recognition and OCR, for images without alternative text.
- Activation with the Alt+1 key combination and automatic notification to screen readers.
- Compatibility with major screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack.
- Keyboard navigation optimizations:
- Navigation via Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Arrow keys, Esc, and Spacebar.
- Quick navigation and “skip content” menus accessible via Alt+1.
- Automatic focus on popups as soon as they are activated.
Keyboard navigation optimization: the background process also adjusts the site’s HTML and adds various behaviors through JavaScript code to make it usable by keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the site using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, open dropdown menus with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, activate buttons and links with Enter, move between radio buttons and checkboxes with the arrow keys, and select them with the Spacebar or Enter. In addition, keyboard users will find quick navigation and skip-content menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1 or as the first elements of the site during keyboard navigation. The background process also handles popups, moving the keyboard focus to them as soon as they appear and preventing the focus from leaving outside.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
